Karbonn to Manufacture Dual-OS (Windows and Android) Smartphones by June
One of the India’s large scale smartphone manufacturers Karbonn Mobiles is going to make Dual-OS smartphones and set to launch them by June this year. According to a report the company has signed the licence agreement with Microsoft and is set to manufacture WindowsPhone based devices, and company's chairman Sudhir Hasija said they are planning to launch Dual-OS phones running on Android along with WindowsPhone in next six months.
It is really good to see mobile sector transiting towards Multi-OS platforms which will create options for users to use the OS of their choice as they could in desktops and laptops. Thanks for Microsoft for easing WindowsPhone licensing regulations recently and opening up the windows platform for more players.
Karbonn by signing this agreement joins the panel of WindowsPhone device makers which includes only Samsung, HTC, Huawei and ZTE earlier. At MWC 2014 Microsoft has updated this panel with more manufacturers, Foxconn, Gionee, JSR, Longcheer, Xolo and Karbonn mobiles.
Karbonn hasn’t given more details on tech specs, other aspects and pricing leaving the inquisition to the savvies.
